He passed peacefully surrounded by his family, at the age of 86.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Wong was born in Shanghai and raised in Hong Kong. He studied at the Pui Ching Middle School where he placed first in the Hong Kong Chinese School Certificate Examination in 1957. After a short time at the Hong Kong Baptist College, he left Hong Kong to pursue further studies at Baylor University in the United States. He earned a BSc in Physics and Mathematics from Baylor University and was presented with the University\u2019s Distinguished Achievement Award in 2012. He went on to earn a PhD in Mathematics from the California Institute of Technology, where he was among the first Hong Kong PhD graduates. He was also awarded that University\u2019s highest honor of Distinguished Alumni Award in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Upon the passing of his father and on the encouragement of his father-in-law Mr. Cha Chi Ming, Dr. Wong gave up his academic tenure to return to Hong Kong in 1974 to manage the family businesses.<\/p>\n<p>He took on the dual role of Managing Director of the Cha family\u2019s China Dyeing Works Limited plus the Chairman of the Chinney Construction Group. Dr. Wong led the Cha Textiles Group for two decades, including taking several companies public, before resigning to run the Chinney Group full-time at the end of the 1980\u2019s. The Chinney Group initially focused on real estate, building construction, and building maintenance. In 1980s, the group expanded into the garment industry, with factories in China, the Philippines, and Indonesia. In 1985, it acquired Hon Kwok Land Investment Company, Limited to grow the property investment business. At the same time, the group further extended its operations into foundation works, piling, drilling, electrical and mechanical building services, implementing a comprehensive strategy of &#8216;one-stop&#8217; vertically integrated construction services. In the 1990s, the group expanded into the mainland real estate market, actively positioning itself in first-tier cities. By the millennium, it officially developed its hotel and serviced apartment businesses.<\/p>\n<p>With outstanding management skills and a forward-looking vision, Dr. Wong has led the group to greater heights. The Chinney Group has four companies listed on the Main Board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited: Chinney Investments, Limited (0216.HK), Hon Kwok Land Investment Company, Limited (0160.HK), Chinney Alliance Group Limited (0385.HK) and Chinney Kin Wing Holdings Limited (1556.HK). The Group employs over 2,300 staff members across Mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Macau. With a strong footing in Hong Kong for over half a century, Dr Wong expanded the Chinney Group\u2019s investment portfolio to manage assets over HKD 26 billion.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to his business acumen, Dr. Wong has also achieved remarkable success in academia, publishing over 100 papers and editing several mathematical journals. As early as 1980, he was appointed as an Honorary Research Associate in the Department of Mathematics of the University of Hong Kong and had served as an Honorary Professor since 2004, actively promoting academic research and exchange. He has also served the University as a Member of Council and the Committee Review Committee and has been a Member of the Finance Committee. For his contributions, he was awarded the Honorary University Fellow in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Wong&#8217;s research specialized in differential equations, qualitative and oscillatory theory, and functional analysis. His research and contributions to the academic community have far-reaching impacts on the mathematical community. He was appointed the Honorary Editor of the Journal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications in 2012. And he served as a Trustee of the Fields Foundation in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Wong personified the business philosophy of &#8220;Truth, Fairness, and Freedom.&#8221; These core values not only reflected his personal beliefs but also serve as the cornerstone of the Chinney Group culture.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Wong actively participated in various public services, dedicated to promoting and enhancing the development and progress of Hong Kong. He has served as a Member of the Labour Advisory Board, the Textile Advisory Board where he represented Hong Kong in the WTO\u2019s Multifiber Arrangement, the Council for Academic Accreditation, and the Research Grants Council, as well as being a Council Member of the Hong Kong Baptist University, and the former Open University of Hong Kong (now known as Hong Kong Metropolitan University). In 1987, Dr. Wong was appointed a Justice of the Peace for his exceptional performance in public service, highlighting his profound impact and selfless dedication to Hong Kong.<\/p>\n<p>The Chinney Group will continue to honor Dr. Wong&#8217;s legacy: striving for excellence; be pragmatic and progressive: and forging ahead to make greater contributions to our society. \u6b72\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u738b\u4e16\u69ae\u535a\u58eb\u65bc\u4e0a\u6d77\u51fa\u751f\uff0c\u5728\u9999\u6e2f\u6210\u9577\uff0c\u66fe\u65bc\u57f9\u6b63\u4e2d\u5b78\u5c31\u8b80\uff0c\u4e26\u57281957\u5e74\u8003\u7372\u9999\u6e2f\u4e2d\u6587\u4e2d\u5b78\u6703\u8003\u7b2c\u4e00\u540d\u3002\u4ed6\u65bc\u9999\u6e2f\u6d78\u6703\u5b78\u9662\u5c31\u8b80\u904e\u4e00\u6bb5\u77ed\u6642\u9593\uff0c\u96a8\u5f8c\u8d74\u7f8e\u570b\u6df1\u9020\uff0c\u5728\u7f8e\u570b\u8c9d\u52d2\u5927\u5b78\u5b8c\u6210\u7269\u7406\u53ca\u6578\u5b78\u7406\u5b78\u58eb\u5b78\u4f4d\uff0c\u4e26\u57282012\u5e74\u69ae\u7372\u8c9d\u52d2\u5927\u5b78\u9812\u767c\u6700\u9ad8\u69ae\u8b7d\u5091\u51fa\u6210\u5c31\u734e\u3002\u5176\u5f8c\u4ed6\u5728\u52a0\u5dde\u7406\u5de5\u5b78\u9662\u6df1\u9020\uff0c\u5b8c\u6210\u54f2\u5b78\u535a\u58eb\uff08\u6578\u5b78\uff09\u5b78\u4f4d\uff0c\u6210\u70ba\u8a72\u6821\u9996\u6279\u4f86\u81ea\u9999\u6e2f\u7684\u535a\u58eb\u7562\u696d\u751f\u3002\u57282014\u5e74\uff0c\u738b\u535a\u58eb\u4e5f\u69ae\u7372\u52a0\u5dde\u7406\u5de5\u5b78\u9662\u6700\u9ad8\u69ae\u8b7d\u5091\u51fa\u6821\u53cb\u734e\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u5728\u5148\u7236\u904e\u4e16\u5f8c\uff0c\u738b\u535a\u58eb\u65bc\u5cb3\u7236\u67e5\u6fdf\u6c11\u5148\u751f\u7684\u9f13\u52f5\u4e0b\u653e\u68c4\u4e86\u5728\u7f8e\u570b\u7684\u5b78\u8853\u6559\u5b78\uff0c\u65bc1974\u5e74\u8d77\u7ba1\u7406\u5bb6\u65cf\u751f\u610f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u56de\u6e2f\u5f8c\uff0c\u738b\u535a\u58eb\u80a9\u8ca0\u8d77\u67e5\u6c0f\u5bb6\u65cf\u7684\u4e2d\u570b\u67d3\u5ee0\u6709\u9650\u516c\u53f8\u8463\u4e8b\u7e3d\u7d93\u7406\uff0c\u540c\u6642\u4e5f\u64d4\u4efb\u5efa\u696d\u96c6\u5718\u4e3b\u5e2d\u3002\u738b\u535a\u58eb\u7ba1\u7406\u4e86\u67e5\u6c0f\u7d21\u7e54\u96c6\u5718\u5c07\u8fd1\u4e8c\u5341\u5e74\uff0c\u5305\u62ec\u5c07\u5e7e\u5bb6\u65d7\u4e0b\u7684\u516c\u53f8\u4e0a\u5e02\u3002\u5230\u4e86\u516b\u5341\u5e74\u4ee3\u672b\uff0c\u738b\u535a\u58eb\u624d\u8fad\u53bb\u67e5\u6c0f\u7d21\u7e54\u96c6\u5718\u7684\u8077\u4f4d\uff0c\u5c08\u5fc3\u6253\u7406\u5efa\u696d\u96c6\u5718\u7684\u696d\u52d9\u3002\u5efa\u696d\u96c6\u5718\u6700\u521d\u4e3b\u8981\u5f9e\u4e8b\u623f\u5730\u7522\u3001\u5efa\u7bc9\u7dad\u4fee\u696d\u52d9\uff1b\u81f3\u516b\u5341\u5e74\u4ee3\uff0c\u696d\u52d9\u64f4\u5c55\u81f3\u88fd\u8863\u696d\u52d9\uff0c\u904d\u4f48\u4e2d\u570b\u5167\u5730\uff0c\u83f2\u5f8b\u8cd3\u548c\u5370\u5c3c\uff1b1985 \u5e74\u6536\u8cfc\u6f22\u570b\u7f6e\u696d\u6709\u9650\u516c\u53f8\uff0c\u6295\u8cc7\u7269\u696d\uff0c\u8207\u6b64\u540c\u6642\uff0c\u5efa\u696d\u96c6\u5718\u4e26\u9032\u4e00\u6b65\u62d3\u5c55\u81f3\u5730\u57fa\u3001\u6253\u6a01\u3001\u947d\u63a2\u3001\u6a5f\u96fb\u5de5\u7a0b\u7b49\u9818\u57df\uff0c\u843d\u5be6\u5efa\u7bc9\u670d\u52d9\u300c\u4e00\u689d\u9f8d\u300d\u7b56\u7565\u3002\u4e5d\u5341\u5e74\u4ee3\uff0c\u96c6\u5718\u653e\u773c\u5167\u5730\u623f\u5730\u7522\u5e02\u5834\uff0c\u7a4d\u6975\u4f48\u5c40\u570b\u5167\u4e00\u7dda\u57ce\u5e02\uff1b\u8207\u5343\u79a7\u5e74\u4ee3\uff0c\u9152\u5e97\u53ca\u670d\u52d9\u5f0f\u516c\u5bd3\u696d\u52d9\u6b63\u5f0f\u8d77\u52d5\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u738b\u535a\u58eb\u6191\u85c9\u5353\u8d8a\u7684\u7ba1\u7406\u80fd\u529b\u548c\u524d\u77bb\u773c\u5149\uff0c\u5e36\u9818\u96c6\u5718\u696d\u52d9\u66f4\u4e0a\u4e00\u5c64\u6a13\u3002\u76ee\u524d\u5efa\u696d\u96c6\u5718\u65d7\u4e0b\u6709\u56db\u9593\u516c\u53f8\u73fe\u65bc\u9999\u6e2f\u806f\u5408\u4ea4\u6613\u6240\u6709\u9650\u516c\u53f8\u4e3b\u677f\u4e0a\u5e02\uff0c\u5206\u5225\u70ba\u5efa\u696d\u5be6\u696d\u6709\u9650\u516c\u53f8\uff08\u80a1\u4efd\u4ee3\u865f216\uff09\u3001\u6f22\u570b\u7f6e\u696d\u6709\u9650\u516c\u53f8\uff08 \u80a1\u4efd\u4ee3\u865f160\uff09\u3001\u5efa\u806f\u96c6\u5718\u6709\u9650\u516c\u53f8\uff08\u80a1\u4efd\u4ee3\u865f385\uff09\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u5efa\u696d\u5efa\u69ae\u63a7\u80a1\u6709\u9650\u516c\u53f8\uff08\u80a1\u4efd\u4ee3\u865f1556\uff09\uff0c\u5728\u4e2d\u570b\u5167\u5730\u3001\u9999\u6e2f\u3001\u6fb3\u9580\u53ca\u65e5\u672c\u591a\u5730\u5171\u6709\u7d042,300 \u9918\u540d\u54e1\u5de5\uff0c\u6295\u8cc7\u548c\u7ba1\u7406\u8cc7\u7522\u9ad8\u9054\u6e2f\u5e63260\u591a\u5104\u5143\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u9664\u4e86\u7d93\u71df\u751f\u610f\u6709\u9053\uff0c\u738b\u4e16\u69ae\u535a\u58eb\u5728\u5b78\u8853\u754c\u4ea6\u6210\u5c31\u6590\u7136\uff0c\u51fa\u7248\u4e86\u8d85\u904e100\u4efd\u5b78\u8853\u6587\u7ae0\u548c\u53c3\u8207\u4e86\u5404\u5927\u91cd\u8981\u6578\u5b78\u5b78\u8853\u96dc\u8a8c\u7684\u4ea4\u6d41\u3002\u65e9\u65bc1980\u5e74\uff0c\u738b\u535a\u58eb\u5df2\u7372\u9999\u6e2f\u5927\u5b78\u6578\u5b78\u7cfb\u59d4\u4efb\u70ba\u540d\u8b7d\u9644\u5c6c\u7814\u7a76\u54e1\uff0c\u53ca\u81f32004\u5e74\uff0c\u64d4\u4efb\u6e2f\u5927\u6578\u5b78\u7cfb\u540d\u8b7d\u6559\u6388\uff0c\u6301\u7e8c\u63a8\u52d5\u5b78\u8853\u7814\u7a76\u8207\u4ea4\u6d41\u3002\u4ed6\u66fe\u51fa\u4efb\u6e2f\u5927\u6821\u52d9\u59d4\u54e1\u6703,\u59d4\u54e1\u6703\u5be9\u67e5\u59d4\u54e1\u6703\u7684\u59d4\u54e1\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u8ca1\u52d9\u59d4\u54e1\u6703\u59d4\u54e1\u3002\u57282013\u5e74\uff0c\u738b\u535a\u58eb\u7372\u9812\u767c\u9999\u6e2f\u5927\u5b78\u540d\u8b7d\u5927\u5b78\u9662\u58eb\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u738b\u535a\u58eb\u7684\u7814\u7a76\u5c08\u7cbe\u65bc\u591a\u500b\u6578\u5b78\u9818\u57df\uff0c\u5305\u62ec\u5fae\u5206\u65b9\u7a0b\u3001\u5b9a\u6027\u8207\u632f\u76ea\u539f\u7406\u53ca\u529f\u80fd\u5206\u6790\u7b49\uff0c\u6709\u95dc\u7814\u7a76\u5c0d\u6578\u5b78\u754c\u6df1\u9060\u5f71\u97ff\u3002\u5728
